Planet of the Apes #1
SCORE: 68
Peter and I were at one of the local comic book stores and he noticed
Planet of the Apes #1. Peter knows I watched the movies and might be
interested. I decided to spend the $4.99 to purchase the Planet of the
Apes #1 comic book. I found myself very curious where in the timeline
this comic book would be in. There will be spoilers in this review. I
find it difficult to avoid spoilers when discussing a storyline in a
comic book.
Planet of the Apes #1 contains thirty pages of content. There is also a
page for Stormbreaker. I read this page in another Marvel comic book. It
is the one where the religious belief of climate change is professed.
There is also a Bullpen Bulletins pages that did not interest me very
much personally. Advertisements can be found throughout the Planet of
the Apes #1 comic book. There is an advertisement encouraging rebellion
against God.
Planet of the Apes #1 brings us to the start of the franchise where
there is some virus and chimps are used as test subjects. The chimps are
immune to the virus thanks to the vaccine. The vaccine does not work on
humans. Chimps are also spreading this disease. There are two groups of
humans within Planet of the Apes #1. The first group want to kill of the
source of the disease - the chimps. The other group wants to protect
them.
Expect violence as the humans go to war over the fate of the primates in
Planet of the Apes #1. I often wondered how so many humans died off so
quickly. Planet of the Apes #1 attacks religious people. Bad language in
Planet of the Apes #1 is shown in symbols. I am still confused where
human size chimps were found. Planet of the Apes #1 does not explain
that. The vaccine makes the chimps smarter.
There are some attacks in Planet of the Apes #1 against males. Females
are show as better, and smarter than males in Planet of the Apes #1.
There are some very scary pictures in Planet of the Apes #1 where apes
are about to viciously attack humans. Much of the violence is not shown
and that is to be commended. I love it when comics leave aspects to the
imagination of the reader. Planet of the Apes #1 does that a little bit.
