Planet of the Apes #2
SCORE: 66
I am beginning to notice a pattern with this comic book series.
Planet of the Apes #2 continues to show us what happened before the apes
take control of the planet. Planet of the Apes #2 is split into two
stories. The first story is fourteen pages, and the second story is six
pages. There are advertisements found throughout the Planet of the Apes
#2 comic book. Planet of the Apes #2 also contains a two page spread
layout that contains a recap and the credits.
There will be spoilers throughout this review. The ALZ-113 outbreak is
killing off 90% of the human population. There are humans that are
training apes to farm, do construction and to fight. I personally think
the training to fight is probably one of the biggest mistakes made by
the humans in Planet of the Apes #2. There is one character in Planet of
the Apes #2 that freaks out that apes are being used for slave labor.
Planet of the Apes #2 has a few pages of comic book content before the
recap and credits pages appear. It is interesting to have a little
intro. The second story in Planet of the Apes #2 is about PUG the
gorilla. Supposedly this gorilla is really smart, and conquered humans
that were killing the apes since they carry and transmit the disease
killing off the human race. There is a bit of uncertainty to what
happened with PUG though.
The issues families will have with Planet of the Apes #2 are violence,
blood, and more. The art in Planet of the Apes #2 uses more of the
darker tones. It can be a bit of a downer to read Planet of the Apes #2.
I have read the Bullpen Bulletin before. The cover on the Planet of the
Apes #2 comic book had little to do with the content inside. Why do some
comic book companies do that? I am still not sure how these apes got so
big.
The most interesting thing in Planet of the Apes #2 to me is the humans
taught, and trained the apes. Without humans there would be no planet of
the apes. I am still confused as to how humans lose the ability to speak
later on. Is there some other virus? It does not make much sense to me.
Countries are breaking down and falling apart in Planet of the Apes #2.
There are countries that no one knows what is happening in them.
