Red Goblin #1

Since the Gold Goblin comic book has not been a total disaster I decided to check out Red Goblin #1. I am actually glad I spent the $4.99 to purchase Red Goblin #1. This comic book is a bit different than I expected it to be. It is interesting in a lot of aspects. Marvel is all about the Osborn family right now. The first page with some credits on it explains what is going on with these characters. I appreciate that because I had no clue.

There will be spoilers in this review. Normie Osborn is the grandson of Norman Osborn. He is also the son of Harry Osborn. Red Goblin #1 reiterates that Harry Osborn is dead. Normie Osborn has a symbiote named Rascal. Since Rascal is really young Normie Osborn has some issues with control and behavior. The young symbiote is compared to a puppy. Rascal loves human brains and chocolate. There is a gang of humans that face paint like the Green Goblin.

The issues families can have with Red Goblin #1 are violence, blood, lack of attire, and more. Bad language is generally shown with symbols. Ads can be found throughout the Red Goblin #1 comic book. There are thirty pages of content and a Bullpen Bulletin that I had read before in another Marvel comic book. Plus the lady featured has little to nothing to do with Red Goblin #1 from what I can discern.

The twist ending at Red Goblin #1 is Norman Osborn is kidnapped by the Goblin Nation. We find out the Goblin King is behind this gang. The last page of content within Red Goblin #1 shows him and he looks like a zombie to me. Norman Osborn calls him Phil Urich. I have no knowledge of Phil Urich or his alter ego the Goblin King. So this character is new to me. The Goblin King's throne looks like steps to a tombstone for Phil Urich.

Normie and Rascal are trying to be heroes and go against the Osborn issues. Normie does have some outbursts that he must apologize for. Normie is also jealous of his adopted brother in Red Goblin #1. The groundwork is being laid for some issues in the future. What is most interesting is Normie is just a kid in Red Goblin #1. I am very curious how this comic book will play out. Will Norman Osborn find out that Normie Osborn is a super hero as well?
