Shazam Fury of the gods
SCORE: 70
Here we are yet again. It begins anew with another Black Friday
season. Shazam Fury of the gods is one of the Black Friday 2023
purchases I made. Noah was excited and interested to see Shazam Fury of
the gods. I found myself interested as well. I did not hate the first
Shazam movie. I thought it was clever for a super hero film. There will
be spoilers in this review of Shazam Fury of the gods.
The issues families can have with Shazam Fury of the gods are violence,
false gods, magic, bad language, promotion of sexual deviancy, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, and more. The three daughters of Atlas come
into our world to steal this staff. They then force the wizard to put
the staff back together. Then they get a fruit from the tree of life so
they can restore their realm.
Shazam is having issues with his family in Shazam Fury of the gods. They
want to do their own thing and he has one rule. They do it together. Not
everyone in the family is interested in that though. They are going
their own way, and he is shown as holding on too tight. He should let
them do whatever they want. The thing is if they were doing their own
thing they would have been hunted down one at a time.
There is a bit of a shocking moment in Shazam Fury of the gods when
Shazam dies. He gives his life to save the world in Shazam Fury of the
gods. In the end of Shazam Fury of the gods Wonder Woman appears and
saves Shazam. She sparks the staff and he is brought back to life. Billy
hits on Wonder Woman and fails miserably. There are numerous humorous
moments within Shazam Fury of the gods.
The three daughters of Atlas do not have much unity in Shazam Fury of
the gods. Kalypso decides to plant the seed in the Earth realm to mess
them up. Her plan fails and two of the sisters wind up dead at the end
of Shazam Fury of the gods. There is plenty of Greek mythology within
Shazam Fury of the gods. Parts of the history within Shazam Fury of the
gods make little sense to me.
There are plenty of bonuses and special features on the Shazam Fury of
the gods discs. The end credit scenes are interesting and very helpful
in understanding where the DCEU was headed at one point in time. I am
not sure it will continue that direction with the recent reboot and
change in leadership. I think Shazam Fury of the gods shows DCEU was
going in the right direction.
