Sonic the Hedgehog #63

I have been reading the IDW Publishing Sonic the Hedgehog comic books since #41. I have been reading them for a bit. Sonic the Hedgehog #63 is the first one of their comic books done in a different way. First and foremost there are two different stories. At least one of them will continue in the future. The second one will probably not continue anytime soon but some seeds were planted. There will be spoilers in this review.

Sonic the Hedgehog #63 starts out with the Story So Far. They went way back before I started reading. Although there were a few issues I missed in the early to mid forties. Maybe that happened in one of those. I just know it was not recent. Someone wants to get revenge on the Diamond Cutters. So they enlisted Duo to sneak into the group and help destroy it from the inside. {UPDATE: an issue was missed and the story makes more sense now}.

Silver the Hedgehog comes along wanting to know if there is more he could do. So he is invited to train with the Diamond Cutters. Things do not go so well as Duo sabotages Silver the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog #63. This story takes up twelve pages of the twenty pages of comic book content within Sonic the Hedgehog #63. It will be continued in the future though. Silver and Whisper are onto Duo.

The character page is very handy in keeping up with all of the characters within Sonic the Hedgehog #63. There is clean art in this comic book. Sonic the Hedgehog #63 also contains a letter squad, creator corner, alternate covers, and a few advertisements. The next comic book is supposed to have two stories about Silver. So that might be interesting. Why has the format of this comic book changed so drastically?

The second story is about Sonic the Hedgehog showing Blaze around. There is a bit of potential romance in Sonic the Hedgehog #63. I thought Sonic and Amy were together. Blaze is used to just being all business on her world. Sonic is teaching her to relax. There could be something that comes out of that eight pages. I will need to keep reading after Sonic the Hedgehog #63 to find out.
