Sonic Universe #70
SCORE: 75
I thankfully had time to continue to work through the comic books
Peter found when cleaning his room. We missed Sonic Universe #69 so the
previously on the back of the front cover of Sonic Universe #70 is very
helpful and handy to me personally. Maybe I will get the time and money
to purchase that missing comic book at some point in the future. There
will be spoilers in this review of Sonic Universe #70.
Knuckles and Shadow are in a river after what looks like a very
exhausting fight. Eclipse trounced the characters left at the Master
Emerald and has stolen it. Knuckles directs them to where they can go to
use traps to slow Eclipse down. Shadow and Knuckles work together to get
to the shuttle craft first. That way they can take Eclipse and his Dark
Arms down. There is some violent content within Sonic Universe #70 as
they fight.
Knuckles is stuck with a difficult decision in Sonic Universe #70.
Knuckles eventually breaks the Master Emerald into pieces so neither
Eclipse or Shadow can leave the floating island with it. That means
Knuckles will need to find the shards and re-assemble the Master
Emerald. This is something Knuckles did not want to do. He had to since
two different forces wanted the Master Emerald. Knuckles made a good
call in my book.
Eclipse does eventually escape in Sonic Universe #70. He does not have
the power he needs though. If Knuckles and Shadow had not been fighting
one another in the previous issue they could have easily taken Eclipse
down. Both of those characters were not at their best in Sonic Universe
#70. Both of them realize they were being meat-heads. If they had talked
it out instead of fought it out things would have gone better.
Sonic Universe #70 is part four of the four part Total Eclipse
storyline. It was an interesting read for me personally. It is also
interesting to see what Peter was into when he was younger. The team
work aspect of Sonic Universe #70 is fantastic. It is great to see so
many characters working toward a common goal. Shadow and his team could
have found a better solution than take the Master Emerald off the island
in my opinion.
