Space Jam A New Legacy

Space Jam A New Legacy is another one of our Black Friday 2022 purchases. I am extremely thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of this movie on DVD. I had heard plenty of bad things before actually watching Space Jam A New Legacy for myself. I honestly did not know if Space Jam A New Legacy could live up to the original Space Jam. There will be spoilers in this review of Space Jam A New Legacy.

The beginning of Space Jam A New Legacy is so slow and cringy. Space Jam A New Legacy early on attacks video games as a waste of time. Lebron James only got to his level of fame because he focused on basketball. In fact he was playing a video game before a game in high school and missed a shot right at the end because of the video game. How many shots had he made before then? He did not lose focus then did he?

Space Jam A New Legacy fast forwards to modern day and Lebron James is teaching his kids the fundamentals of basketball as well as one of his personal signature moves on the court. One of Lebron's sons created a video game and Lebron considers it a waste of time. His son wants to go to an E3 camp for video game design the same weekend there is basketball camp. Lebron is about basketball and only basketball in Space Jam A New Legacy.

Warner Bros offers Lebron all of these ideas from Al-G Rhythm. Lebron turns them down and insults the creator of the ideas. His son and him have a little tiff and wind up inside the computer. To get his son back Lebron must win a basketball game against Al-G Rhythm. What Lebron does not know is his son is on the Monster Squad and they are playing a version of his sons basketball video game. The game has all kinds of cool ways to get power ups and score massive points.

At halftime the Tune Squad is down by over one thousand points. Lebron lets them be themselves and they wind up catching up. Tune Squad winds up winning in the end and everyone gets to go back to the real world. Bugs Bunny even sacrifices himself for the team. There is some bad language, theft, and violent content within Space Jam A New Legacy. The lesson within Space Jam A New Legacy is let other people be whoever they want to be.

Space Jam A New Legacy contains some humorous parts here and there. Ultimately I feel the original is still better. I love the moment where Sylvester finds Michael Jordan to come and help the team. In case you are wondering it is not the Michael Jordan from the first movie. It is the other actor who plays in movies like Creed. Another concept within Space Jam A New Legacy is to remember the concept of fun. Some of the animation when the Tunes are brought into the real world does not look right.
