Tanzer

Tanzer is one of the ten video games on the Mega Cat Collection 1 cartridge that works on the Evercade handhelds and home console. I am very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of this newly made retro styled video game. Tanzer looks and feels a lot like the Genesis games like Altered Beast from back in the 16-bit era. At the same time Tanzer shows some of the deficiencies from that video game era.

We have a large robot looking character that hacks and slashes his way through the forty levels in Tanzer. We collect gold from all of these enemies that we decimate and destroy in Tanzer. The gold can then be spent on upgrades and improvements when we are between levels. Tanzer starts pretty easy but can get much more complex as players progress through the levels. The attack the main character uses reminds me a lot of Strider.

I got a good deal on Tanzer on the Mega Cat Collection 1 cartridge. I looked at the regular price to purchase a cartridge on the Genesis and it is two and a half times the cost of getting ten games on the Evercade. I know families have been very interested in the massive amounts of coverage we have given and continue to give to the Evercade systems and cartridges. It is neat to see they made a partnership with Mega Cat Studios.

There are different themes to the areas we fight in while playing this 2D side scrolling video game. We run across Ancient Rome, the Old West, and more in Tanzer. Many of the same enemies come at us with the same attack patterns in Tanzer. If you are being careful you should be able to progress pretty far in Tanzer. Violence is the main issue families will have with Tanzer. We time travel to these different eras in Tanzer.

The music is pretty good in Tanzer in my opinion. I also like how quickly our character responds. We can really move around the screen very fast in Tanzer. This is needed since we must avoid all kinds of shots from the enemies. Tanzer taught me to pay attention, avoid getting hit, and look for my opportunities to lay down the law. Playing Tanzer can make you more aggressive. Is that something you need?
