The Amazing Spider-Man #29

I wound up purchasing two copies of The Amazing Spider-Man #29. The first one I purchased was a regular looking cover with Spider-Man on it. The second one is a variant cover of the Disney 100 with What If...Minnie Mouse was Captain Marvel. Minnie Mouse is on the cover in a Captain Marvel like costume. These variant covers are what got me into The Amazing Spider-Man so I decided to purchase a second copy of this comic book. There will be spoilers in this review.

Doctor Octavus is torturing Norman Osborn because he found memories where the Green Goblin took all of these things from him. Doctor Octavus has gaps in his memory. He is trying to find what he is missing and lost. I did some research and suspect this has to be with Superior Spider-Man. I am not one hundred percent on that though. Peter mentioned that storyline to me and I did a bit of online research to learn about it.

The main issue families can have with The Amazing Spider-Man #29 is violence. The Stormbreaker is on the Incredible Hulk. The Bullpen Bulletins is on Bryan Hitch. I have read both of those in other comic books. I wind up reading the same ones again and again because they are in the same comic books released in the same month. The whole revenge factor from Doctor Octavus makes little to no sense to me.

The end of The Amazing Spider-Man #29 is a bit shocking. Doctor Octavus wants to hurt Norman Osborn so he injects him with something to make him more like he was in the past. The crazy psycho Green Goblin. I do not know if this injection will work or not. Rek-Rap is back in The Amazing Spider-Man #29 for a page. He is capturing people walking dogs. He strings them up like Spider-Man does to criminals. This will become a problem at some point.

Peter Parker is with the old Doctor Octavus legs that want to fuse with his spine. Peter reluctantly agrees and they look good when they are painted in Spider-Man red. The legs should know where Doctor Octavus is. I am concerned they may get there just a bit too late. I guess I need to keep reading to find out for certain. There are twenty pages of comic book content in The Amazing Spider-Man #29 with advertisements found throughout.
