The Avengers #1
SCORE: 65
I had read about The Avengers #1 months ago in upcoming comic books
periodicals. It honestly did not impress me. When I saw it at our local
comic book store I decided to give The Avengers #1 a shot and a chance.
I am already regretting that decision. I will get into that in this
review. There are references in The Avengers #1 to things that happened
in some other Avengers comic book series. I did not read them. There
will be spoilers in this review.
The issues families will have with The Avengers #1 are violence, blood,
bad language, false gods, and more. Captain Marvel is the leader of the
Avengers in this comic book. She does not really have much of a
leadership style in my opinion. She is sort of there calling out what
she wants others to do. Somehow she was voted to the position but I have
no idea how that worked. She then picked the team of Avengers she
wanted.
Are you familiar with the term go woke get broke? Marvel still has not
gotten that memo. There is constant woke garbage within The Avengers #1.
Terminus attacks and the Avengers must save the Earth. They must also
move a black hole generator off the planet. I guess Captain Marvel (the
female version) got transported into the future from the explosion. She
should have listened to her team. Too many things in The Avengers #1 are
repeated.
We go from the current fight in The Avengers #1 to how she recruited
everyone. They all accept, even Black Panther who stabbed the Avengers
in the back in some recent comic book. Ads can be found throughout The
Avengers #1 comic book. There are thirty pages of comic book content in
The Avengers #1. They even use the Avengers Assemble mantra at one point
in The Avengers #1. There is some black Falcon Captain America hybrid in
The Avengers #1. The original Captain America is shunned and
disrespected in The Avengers #1.
Three captains talk in The Avengers #1. There is all cap this, and cap
that. Honestly it was a really annoying conversation. Thor, Iron Man,
and Vision are present in The Avengers #1. They barely make much of an
impact though. The Scarlet Witch is also present in The Avengers #1. She
might have helped with some magic spell near the end of The Avengers #1.
I am not clear on that. The Avengers #1 is very underwhelming and the
characters are dull and boring.
