The Batman

Peter had seen The Batman in theaters. I patiently waited for Black Friday 2022 sales to pick up this DVD. I know there has been different opinions about The Batman. There are some that enjoyed it, and others that despised it. To me The Batman is like Batman Noir. Especially considering how much of this film is in the dark. There was an interesting fight scene in the dark where we got glimpses of the action when guns went off. There will be spoilers in this review.

My biggest disappointment with The Batman is the radical far left woke politics that are used. Why is there racism, sexism, and hate speech like that allowed? I suspect in one hundred years Hollyhate is going to be looked very down upon for what they did in this era. Why were multiple characters race changed in The Batman? Why is that role being taken away from qualified people? Is it just to tick another radical far left box? Is it to be controversial and divisive?

The issues families will have with The Batman are violence, blood, bad language, enticement to lust, promotion of sexual deviancy, encouraging rebellion against God, and more. The character outfits within The Batman are on the strange side. It is like they had no budget for Catwoman or the Riddler. The Batman outfit in this movie was okay. A lot of the visuals within The Batman are creepy. So is that Nirvana song that is used throughout The Batman.

I wondered how Robert Pattinson would do as Batman. He actually did a decent Batman in this movie. He is horrible as Bruce Wayne though. The Batman makes Bruce Wayne a recluse who is not able to make eye contact. In other words Bruce Wayne looks like someone who is totally mentally unstable in The Batman. Most of the leaders in The Batman are corrupt beyond belief. When people ask Batman who he is - his answer is Vengeance.

The Batman does have character progression and in the end Batman realizes that people need hope. It sounds like he will try and change going forward. I hope that happens in a sequel to The Batman. The end of The Batman teases The Riddler and The Joker teaming up. Those two would make a powerful duo. It is unknown if that will happen in a future movie. I found The Batman to be different. I am neither on the loving or hating side of this movie.
