The Sandman The Kindly Ones

On our Black Friday 2022 trip I ran across The Sandman The Kindly
Ones for $4.99. I vaguely remember The Sandman comics from decades ago.
I thought I would check out this graphic novel and see what it was
about. The Sandman The Kindly Ones originally sold for $19.99. So I got
it much cheaper. It was also a good buying point for me since I was not
sure if it would be any good or not. I know people that are rebellious
to God gush all over Neil Gaiman. There will be spoilers in this review.
The art in The Sandman The Kindly Ones is horrible. The art is ugly,
bad, nasty, gross, and disgusting. I guess they were going for an
atrocious look. The issues families will have with The Sandman The
Kindly Ones are bad language, horror, lack of attire, enticement to
lust, nudity, sex outside of marriage, selfishness, blood, sexual
deviancy and more. It can be quite a chore to read this graphic novel.
The Sandman The Kindly Ones has all kinds of different characters within
it. There is Satan, false gods, goddesses, and more. The attacks on God
fit with the rest of the backwards logic within The Sandman The Kindly
Ones. Lyta has a son Daniel who (if I understand correctly) was
conceived in the Dreaming. The Sandman is going to come for Daniel at
some future date. Lyta is paranoid and watches over Daniel all of the
time. Lyta finally goes on a job interview and Daniel gets kidnapped.
Lyta is shown a picture of a burned child and told that her son Daniel
is now dead. Lyta goes to the Furies to get revenge on The Sandman.
Thing is The Sandman did not kidnap or kill her child. Her child is
actually still alive. The Furies can kill The Sandman because he killed
his son. This is referenced but I did not quite follow what was going on
with his son. It sounded like his son wanted to die.
The Sandman does eventually die in The Sandman The Kindly Ones. He has
the new Corinthian find the child and Daniel winds up replacing The
Sandman in the Dreaming. In essence Daniel becomes The Sandman in The
Sandman The Kindly Ones. Lyta is going to be hunted for the damage she
caused. There are plenty of sick and disgusting characters in The
Sandman The Kindly Ones. A fairy loves The Sandman but it is never
returned.
I am not clear why some people feel this grouping of comics is so great.
There are so many demented, disgusting, and perverse characters in The
Sandman The Kindly Ones. I was not sure if they were going through with
killing off the main character or not. He did die off to save The
Dreaming which is the most noble thing about this graphic novel. I
noticed the television show race changed, and gender changed multiple
characters from The Sandman The Kindly Ones.
