Transformers #40
SCORE: 65
I am not sure what has gone wrong in our local area stores in terms
of finding Transformers comic books. I had to purchase Transformers #40
online after looking for it locally for months. I do what I can to
support local businesses. When they do not have supply then I am left
with purchasing it online. I am glad I had the money to purchase a copy
of the Transformers #40 comic book. There will be spoilers in this
review.
Optimus gets really philosophical in Transformers #40. The Autobots are
facing a major problem. The Decepticons are sending a massive army to
attack the Autobots in Crystal City. Half of Iacon is sent to attack the
Autobots. Optimus is clear that they are fighting a war for time. They
are trying to give those not fighting time to get out. Ultimately they
complete the delaying tactic enough to let the others get out of the
city and on their way to Darkmount.
Transformers #40 starts with the Story So Far, a page devoted to the
main characters, twenty pages of content, next month’s cover, alternate
covers and then some advertisements. There is a character in
Transformers #40 that talks about praying to his ancestors for help. I
am not really sure what good that will do him. If he were praying to God
then I could see a potential miracle happening. I am also not clear on
the religious beliefs within Transformers #40.
The shock twist ending with Transformers #40 is a Titan appears. I am
not clear which side this Titan happens to be on. Is the Titan working
for the Autobots or the Decepticons. The purple coloring on the Titan
makes me think Decepticon. The Autobots are outnumbered badly in
Transformers #40. The Decepticons want to destroy the Autobots so they
can have unity. That way everyone on Cybertron follows the same moral
and ethical system.
There is plenty of fighting within Transformers #40. There are a few
shocking moments when one of the bots gets his head exploded. Optimus
seems really worried about choices and consequences in Transformers #40.
The Autobots are looking more and more like a small and weak resistance
against an oppressive government. There are plenty of Americans that can
relate to that position. I wonder if the writers meant to draw that
parallel.
