Uncharted
SCORE: 69
A few months ago I noticed Uncharted was on Netflix. So I watched it.
I did not get around to reviewing it though. Then I noticed Uncharted on
Blu-ray and DVD during our Black Friday shopping trip. I decided to
purchase a copy and get around to reviewing it. Thankfully I had enough
money to purchase a copy of Uncharted on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital. I
actually enjoyed quite a bit of Uncharted. I know video game movies have
a bad name in the industry. There will be spoilers in this review.
To be completely clear and transparent I am not a fan of the Uncharted
video games. I have messed around with a few of them and they never kept
my interest for very long. Uncharted stars Tom Holland and Mark
Wahlberg. Both of them do a fantastic job in Uncharted. The main bad guy
played by Antonio Banderas gets killed off by his own henchmen in the
Uncharted movie. Which is pretty lame since he cannot come back in any
sequels.
I did not like the Jo Braddock character. The Chloe Frazer character was
pretty good. The failure to trust others really is the downfall of Chloe
Frazer. Victor Sullivan (played by Mark Wahlberg) has some great
development in Uncharted. He saves Nathan Drake (played by Tom Holland)
near the end of this movie. From what I understand Uncharted is a
prequel to the video games. Sort of an origin story for Nathan Drake.
Which is cool.
The issues families can have with Uncharted are violence, blood, bad
language, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more. Uncharted feels
like an Indiana Jones kind of a movie. There are plenty of fun and funny
moments within this movie. There are also some great parkour action
scenes in Uncharted. Some of the chase scenes are great to watch
multiple times. The story in Uncharted is also fun to watch.
It takes one hundred and eighteen minutes to watch Uncharted from start
to finish. There are plenty of bonus features about this movie and
behind the scenes. I really enjoyed watching the music video that is
connected to Uncharted. The Stunts and Action bonus feature was pretty
fun too. The selfish motives of many of the characters makes perfect
sense when we are talking about that much gold. I still wish honesty and
had been more prevalent. There are some cool scenes in the credits of
this movie too.
