Venom Let There Be Carnage
SCORE: 52
I am very thankful I had the money to purchase the DVD version of
Venom Let There Be Carnage on Black Friday 2022. The first Venom movie
did not score well with us. I suspected Venom Let There Be Carnage would
have its problems. Especially since it introduced serial killer Cletus
Kasady. I was curious if Venom Let There Be Carnage would stay true to
the comic books or not in how Carnage was created. Please be aware there
will be spoilers in this review.
Eddie Brock is on the bottom again. He needs something to jump start his
career. At the same time he has the symbiote constantly wanting to eat
human brains. It is that or chocolate. The apartment Eddie Brock lives
in is completely trashed thanks to Venom. At times other characters
think Eddie Brock is crazy since he talks to Venom. From their
perspective he is talking to himself. Eddie tries to keep Venom hidden.
The humor within Venom Let There Be Carnage is really good. Venom makes
all kinds of great comments here and there throughout the movie. Venom
had us laughing quite a bit in Venom Let There Be Carnage. Venom does
want to eat the brains but of only the bad guys. He also wants to help
Eddie. Venom may not be very good at things like making breakfast but
his heart is in the right place.
The issues families will have with Venom Let There Be Carnage are blood,
violence, bad language, sexual comments, and more. Detective Patrick
Mulligan may host a piece of Carnage at the end of Venom Let There Be
Carnage. The detective’s eyes glow blue. The prevailing theory is he has
a piece of Carnage within him. We will have to wait for a third movie to
see if that is true or not. It takes ninety-seven minutes to watch Venom
Let There Be Carnage from start to finish.
All in all I actually enjoyed Venom Let There Be Carnage. The way
Carnage comes to be does not match the comics and that is a bit lame.
The bad language deters from an otherwise fun super hero experience. The
battle between Brock and Venom is interesting. Cletus and Shriek loving
one another is different (although in a Natural Born Killers kind of
way). Why was Shriek race changed? That was really weird, and will
definitely generate controversy.
