What If Dark Moon Knight #1
SCORE: 65
One of the biggest complaints against the What If comics from the
past is someone else becomes a hero and then the stories wind up almost
the same. There is a reason I bring up this exact point. I will
elaborate more on it later in this review. What If Dark Moon Knight #1
contains thirty pages of comic book content with advertisements found
throughout. There will be spoilers in this review.
The reason I brought up that point at the beginning of this review of
What If Dark Moon Knight #1 is because it does that. Marc Spector is
killed early on in What If Dark Moon Knight #1. Then his girlfriend
Marlene Alraune becomes a female Moon Knight. She fights evil and
murders the man that killed her boyfriend. I am not sure if the original
Moon Knight killed that guy or not.
The issues families can have with What If Dark Moon Knight #1 are lack
of attire, enticement to lust, violence, blood, bad language, false gods
and more. The introduction to this comic book is on the credits page.
That introduction really sets the stage for What If Dark Moon Knight #1.
What If Dark Moon Knight #1 also contains some pages about how Marvel
remembers John Romita. There have been more of these deaths in the comic
book industry in recent years.
Marlene is really mad at the Egyptian false god that Marc served. So she
goes and decides to serve Ra in the same manner and fashion. That way
she get can revenge. She brings evil doers into the light. Ultimately
she becomes what she should be avoiding. She realized that this line of
work is very dangerous. In that regard What If Dark Moon Knight #1 has a
real lack of logic.
What If Dark Moon Knight #1 is more bloody than I expected it to be. I
am honestly not a fan of the Moon Knight comic books. They did not reach
me back in the day, and the new ones did not interest me. That
television show was actually interesting though. That is part of the
reason I gave What If Dark Moon Knight #1 a chance. Plus I did not know
what to expect from this What If storyline.
