Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2
SCORE: 73
I am thankful I had the money to purchase the Wild Cards The Drawing
of Cards #2 comic book. The story picks up where the last one left off
and there is plenty of action and drama within Wild Cards The Drawing of
Cards #2. There will be spoilers in this review. I want to be clear on
that. It is hard to discuss a comic book without some spoilers. Dr.
Tachyon desperately tries to enlist the aid of the President of the
United States.
The criminals with the bomb are over New York City with five blimps
together holding up a ship. Jetbboy goes up there to stop them. In the
fight to secure the weapon one of the bad guys shoots the bomb. It goes
off and the bioweapon rains down on New York City. Dr. Tachyon cries
because the atrocity he tried to avert winds up happening anyways. Many
humans die in Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2. Some are changed into
hideous creatures. Others get miraculous powers. This fantasy world is
changed forever.
The issues families can have with Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2 are
blood, violence, gore, and more. There are twenty pages of content
within Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2. There is also a recap, and
advertisements are strewn throughout. We do see next months cover at the
end of Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2. For me Wild Cards The Drawing
of Cards #2 shows the massive attempts to stop something evil fall
short. It winds up causing so much damage. If only Jetboy could have
stopped that criminal from shooting the weapon.
It is unclear if Jetboy survived in Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2.
I suspect he did not since he was so close to the explosion. It is
possible some of that bioweapon changed him in a way that he could
survive that kind of an explosion. Fantasy writers come up with all
kinds of things. I do not recall from the books what ultimately happened
to Jetboy. I am interested in continuing to read this comic book series
to see where things go. A lot of Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2 is
nostalgic. I love how the characters talk and treat one another. Very
1950s, a really good decade.
The art work and dialogue are pretty good in Wild Cards The Drawing of
Cards #2. I enjoyed the writing in Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #2
too. The story really progressed and went right where I knew it was
going to go. As horrible as this was it needed to happen for this
fantasy super hero world to be created. A lot of Wild Cards The Drawing
of Cards #2 is a what if scenario. We never know of the averted
disasters. We just know of the ones that happened like 9/11. Heroes fall
short sometimes.
