Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3
SCORE: 73
I am so thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of the Wild Cards
The Drawing of Cards #3 comic book. I am also thankful we started
reviewing comic books right before this comic book series came out. I am
curious how far this series is going to go. Thus far we have seen the
origins of the Wild Card virus and the immediate aftermath. I remember
there was quite a bit of lore from the books. There will be spoilers in
this review.
Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3 takes us along the journey of Croyd
Crenson. He gets infected and falls asleep. Four weeks later he wakes up
and is now an adult. He also has some powers. He falls asleep again and
winds up waking up with different powers. I vaguely remember a character
from the books that would sleep and wake up with different powers each
time. Sometimes he would be an ace and other times he would be a joker.
I suspect this might be the same character.
The artwork within Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3 is decent. There
are plenty of panels in Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3 from the
night time. Croyd Crenson meets Bently who is a dog with a human head.
They steal food from the military because Croyd Crenson is so hungry
after sleeping for four weeks. There are plenty of scary things that
Croyd sees in Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3.
There are ads found throughout the Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3
comic book. Next months cover is also shown near the end of Wild Cards
The Drawing of Cards #3. The mainline content of Wild Cards The Drawing
of Cards #3 is twenty pages. There is also a recap page near the
beginning of Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3. In a lot of ways Wild
Cards The Drawing of Cards #3 could be a self contained comic book.
The beginning of Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3 picks up right after
the weapon goes off. Kids in school see it come crashing down. They are
supposed to stay there but they rush home and get themselves infected.
By the way Croyd Crenson goes from kid to adult in just a few pages
within Wild Cards The Drawing of Cards #3. Another gift to him from the
Wild Card virus. I am still curious to see where this comic book is
going.
