X-Men Legends #2
SCORE: 68
I continue my exploration of the X-Men Legends comic book series with
X-Men Legends #2. The events of X-Men Legends #2 happened between
Incredible Hulk #181, #182, and Giant-Size X-Men #1. Wolverine and Jack
Diamond are still on a mission to nab some mutants and bring them back
to Canada. This is another comic book I was unable to find locally so I
had to splurge to purchase it online. There will be spoilers in this
review.
The cuts through the logo on the front cover of X-Men Legends #2 is a
very nice touch. I am very curious where this franchise goes from here.
I am guessing X-Men Legends will put stories in the gaps from the past.
Wolverine and Diamond run across multiple mutants at the beginning of
X-Men Legends #2. The duo winds up butting heads and knocking themselves
out. Then we learn it was all a mental illusion by Mesmero.
Mesmero is not alone in X-Men Legends #2. Wildlife is with Mesmero.
Wildlife is against killing the other two mutants. Wildlife is actually
another X-Man you may know - Beast. We also see how Wolverine gets the
better face mask thanks to X-Men Legends #2. Mesmero has been
controlling Beast and even gave him a new name. Memories flooded through
related to Linda Donaldson. Beast loved Linda even though she did not
love him back.
The Bullpen Bulletin found within X-Men Legends #2 is interesting. There
are twenty pages of content within X-Men Legends #2. Ad can be found
throughout this comic book. The issues families can have with X-Men
Legends #2 are violence, lack of attire, murder and more. Wolverine
decides to kill Jack Diamond at one point within X-Men Legends #2.
Wolverine takes Mesmero back with him to Canada. One mutant recruit is
better than zero.
There are only a couple of characters within X-Men Legends #2 that I am
familiar with. Those two characters are Wolverine and Beast. Meeting the
others and hearing about machines that could sap the life out of mutants
is interesting. I hope this is not total redefining of characters and
content. I would only be able to verify that by reading quite a few
other related comic books. For now I will continue to check out X-Men
Legends.
