X-Men Legends #5
SCORE: 61
Thus far the X-Men Legends series has not been that great. In fact a
lot of this series has been dull, boring, lame, and not very exciting. I
was really hoping that would change when one of my favorite X-Men is
being featured. Can you guess which X-Men I am really interested in? It
is Bishop. I always felt like he was not treated properly or fairly in
the comic books in the past. I was hoping X-Men Legends #5 would redeem
that. There will be spoilers in this review.
The issues families will have with X-Men Legends #5 are lack of attire,
false gods, bad language, and more. The storyline starts with a lot of
recap about Bishop, his team, and the future Bishop came from. The
events in this comic book happen before the events of Uncanny X-Men 282.
The X-Men are not very happy with Bishop. After all he is is a murderer.
He comes from a dark future where mutants are in charge of other
mutants.
Abuse of power happens in X-Men Legends #5 just like in our world. I
really wish X-Men Legends #5 had described it as a swamp of corruption
like Washington DC in our world. There are twenty pages of content
within X-Men Legends #5. The advertisements are found throughout this
comic book. This thirteen and older only rated comic book cost me $3.99.
The storyline will continue in the next issue of this comic book. X-Men
Legends #5 ends with expectation about what will happen next.
The mutants in charge of a prison of other mutants are displacing
families who did not wrong to get their property. Bishop and his team
decide they must find a way to free these families. The last straw on
Bishop's back was when the Sentinels were activated to murder the mutant
they had talked down from a violent fight. Those Sentinels killed all of
the family including normal humans who had done nothing wrong.
The storyline in X-Men Legends #5 is more interesting than the last one.
I am concerned that the potential will be lost. I also hope to see
Bishop vindicated at least a little bit. He is being shunned by the
current X-Men in X-Men Legends #5. The Bullpen Bulletins had some
interesting information in X-Men Legends #5. I would love to go back and
read some of the Uncanny X-Men at some point for context in relation to
X-Men Legends #5.
