X-Treme X-Men #1
SCORE: 60
Thankfully I had the money to check out the X-Treme X-Men #1 comic
book. I am beginning to wonder why I give some of these comic books a
chance. X-Treme X-Men #1 is a great example of that internal question.
In fact thanks to X-Treme X-Men #1 I am getting less eager to waste
money on some of these comic books. X-Treme X-Men #1 is for the members
of the family thirteen and older only. X-Treme X-Men #1 cost $3.99.
There will be spoilers in this review.
The issues with X-Treme X-Men #1 are blood, violence, gore, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, sexism against men, a ghost and more. Ads
can be found throughout X-Treme X-Men #1. Kitty Pryde is the main focus
of X-Treme X-Men #1. She goes to work to see Ogun has murdered everyone
there. Many of the X-Men are shown dead in X-Treme X-Men #1. Thankfully
we find out later this is all in her head.
Ogun tries to possess Shadowcat in X-Treme X-Men #1. She expels him from
her mind and some X-Men hunt for him. They can't find him since he is a
spirit. Where is Cyclops in this franchise? There are references to what
happened in the past with Ogun and other characters in X-Treme X-Men #1.
Wolverine explains a lot of the history since he knew it. Bishop looks
pretty good in X-Treme X-Men #1. He barely says much though.
X-Treme X-Men #1 contains twenty-two pages of content not counting the
advertisements. There is also a Bullpen Bulletins that could be highly
controversial and highly divisive thanks to demon possessed pronoun
declaration. The art looks good in X-Treme X-Men #1. I am confused as to
how Ogun can do what he is doing. None of that was explained in X-Treme
X-Men #1. Wolverine murdered him in some past series.
X-Treme X-Men #1 does not impress me one bit. I have purchased
additional issues after this one. I may not go much beyond that unless
this series turns it around quickly. X-Treme X-Men is supposed to be a
new ongoing series. The storyline thus far confuses me. The characters
are on the weird side. The blood and gore were not needed. Plus it makes
no sense that Ogun could cut off Wolverine's head. I know it was all a
nightmare but still.
