Action Comics #1061

I am thankful I had the $4.99 to purchase a copy of the Action Comics #1061 comic book. Action Comics #1061 is the first part of the I, Bizarro storyline. This is my first time coming back to Superman comic books in a really long time. The whole Bizarro storyline caught my interest. There are thirty pages of comic book content within Action Comics #1061. There will be spoilers in this review.

Action Comics #1061 shows me some interesting things I did not know about. For instance Action Comics #1061 references multiple different Bizarros. This is news to me. Bizarro is on some planet where magic reigns supreme. Bizarro easily breaks through the defenses and absorbs a ton of magic. We then find out where Superman is and what he is doing. Bizarro shows up and they start to fight.

There are six pages of comic book content in Action Comics #1061 before we reach the credits page. There is also a DC Nation Spotlight on Jason Aaron in Action Comics #1061. That interview is about this comic book series. He is very excited to bring a different kind of a Bizarro storyline to this comic book franchise. There is some magic, blood, violence, and false gods within Action Comics #1061.

Action Comics #1061 has quite the interesting twist ending within it. Bizarro gets sucked into this magic portal thing. Superman is not able to save him. Then everyone on the planet starts turning into Bizarro versions of themselves. This includes Lois Lane. Superman needs to get checked out for any internal injuries related to the magic attacks he withstood. It does not look like that will be happening anytime soon though.

I like the artwork within Action Comics #1061. Generally the artwork is clean with a lot going on. For example one page has Bizzaro with all kinds of magical lightning around him. Superman is laughing hysterically at the end of Action Comics #1061. Something Bizarro did impacted him deeply. I am curious to find out where this storyline will be going. I plan on reading this storyline to the finish.
