Batman #914

Normally I am not a fan of one shots. I prefer longer stories. That is just my personal preference. Batman #914 is an one shot. I actually enjoyed Batman #914. The front cover of this comic book also shows this to be Batman #149. There was a reboot at one point in time. Batman #914 is the legacy number. Batman #914 cost me $4.99 and there are thirty pages of comic book content.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Batman #914 comic book. The Robin that was made in the last series is aging very quickly in Batman #914. He is technically a clone of Bruce Wayne. Batman does all he can to save him. He even reached out to others like Mr. Terrific. Batman #914 is all about putting the pieces back together of the family. Vandal Savage offers use of the Bat Cave and Wayne Manor for favors to be named later.

Can you guess how Batman responded to Vandal Savage? Batman hits the police commissioner and destroys the Bat signal. Batman needs a home though. How will this happen? Bruce Wayne discovers that Zur had all kinds of money which means he now has all of the money. Bruce Wayne decides to revitalize a part of Gotham by buying up buildings cheap. One will be the new home for his family. The others will be for low income housing.

The theme of family is very strong in Batman #914. I like how Batman #914 is taking Batman and his family in a brand new direction. They have had all kinds of turmoil in the recent past. Getting them together and working together is a nice change of pace. Batman #914 feels like a breath of fresh air to me. That is another reason I enjoyed this particular comic book personally.

The issues families can have with Batman #914 are violence, blood, and more. The violence and blood are really light in Batman #914. There is a five page preview to Absolute Power in Batman #914. I personally am not into that storyline right now so I am going to stop reading this comic book series for a bit. I actually planned to stop reading after the last one. I bought Batman #914 by accident. I am glad I did though.
