Cars #5
SCORE: 85
The Route 66 Dash continues in Cars #5. I like the pacing and the
flow of this storyline too. There is plenty of time given to the
different pairs of racers in Cars #5. Back in the day Cars #5 cost us
$2.99. There is some humor and insults within Cars #5. The comic book
content is twenty-two pages. There is a page with a message from the
editor and an interview of another employee of this company.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Cars #5 comic book. Mater
keeps getting distracted by signs that Chick and Bubba leave behind.
They let Mater know there is a tractor tipping competition nearby. Sadly
these are lies. Even more sad is Mater keeps falling for this little
trick. This duo is in dead last and trying to get caught back up. The
joke is there actually is a competition in Oklahoma and Mater wins it.
After Mater wins the tractor tipping competition he and Lightning get
escorted back to Route 66 via a shortcut. So the duo winds up catching
back up with Chick and Bubba at the end. Mater tries to get his hood
back but Bubba will only give it if they wind up winning the racer.
There are plenty of other racers in their way. Cars #5 also lets the
four racers that tricked Mater early on. I do not remember them at the
starting line though.
Sally insults Flow about her curves and needing some exercise in Cars
#5. They wind up getting pulled over by a police car. Other police cars
try to stop the four racing street cars but they jump right over them.
Filmore and Ramone get in trouble with the law over organic fuel. A
police officer overheard what they were doing. They were able to talk
their way out of it in Cars #5 thankfully.
Mack and Gray are actually in first place in Cars #5. The bad news for
them is Mack wants to stop at every single little interesting roadside
attraction. This is causing issues with Gray who wants to get through
the race, and possibly even win the thing. The continues after Cars #5
which is a good thing. I am glad they took their time with this story. I
saw an ad for a Darkwing Duck comic from 2010. I am very curious.
