Cobra Commander #2
SCORE: 50
After reading the first Cobra Commander comic book I thought it can't
get much worse than that can it? Guess what? I was totally wrong. Cobra
Commander #2 is worse than the first. At least the letters in the end
confirm what I had already been thinking. Image Comics decided G.I. Joe
and Transformers need to be done in the horror theme. Not sure who asked
for that. Not sure who thought that was a good idea. Whoever had that
idea needs some serious therapy.
There will be spoilers in this review of the Cobra Commander #2 comic
book. We learn about the Dreadnoks in Cobra Commander #2. Mainly Ripper
and Buzzer. Zarana also shows up near the end of Cobra Commander #2.
Cobra Commander is looking for some energon in the swamp. The Dreadnoks
are trying to find out who is trying to buy weapons without paying them
in their market. The horror film vibe is alive in Cobra Commander #2
with body parts hanging and whatnot.
The issues families will have with Cobra Commander #2 are blood,
violence, dark art and more. There are twenty pages of comic book
content within Cobra Commander #2. We also have two letter pages in
Cobra Commander #2. I am noticing they only publish letters that tell
them how wonderful they are. They do not have any diversity of thought.
We have a page devoted to the next issue in Cobra Commander #2. The
final few pages of Cobra Commander #2 are advertisements.
Cobra Commander finds himself in the water with numerous gators. It does
not look so good for him going forward. Cobra Commander is also without
his protector at the time. The Dreadnoks stopped pursuing because Cobra
Commander went into a really dangerous part of the swamp in Cobra
Commander #2. If they won't go there and they live there, what does that
tell you? I was sad to see the Thunder Machine get blown up.
This comic book series is going to be five issues long. I will read it
until the end. I wonder if I am just a glutton for punishment after
reading Cobra Commander #2. I know this is bad. I know this is going
nowhere good. I totally disagree with the direction they are taking it.
If they start to see a drop off in sales maybe they will fix the
direction. It is possible I will stop reading this series before it
finishes.
