Coco

Coco is a Disney Pixar film from 2017. I watched Coco on Disney+ so there were advertisements, lag, glitches, and more. The same advertisements are shown again and again on Disney+. I only pay attention to them so I can be sure to not buy from those companies. It takes one hour and forty-four minutes to watch Coco from start to finish. This is a PG rated film steeped deep in religious content.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Coco movie. I can say that after watching Coco I have zero plans of ever purchasing a physical copy of this movie. I have no interest in seeing this movie again. Miguel is a young man that loves music. The problem is his family hates music for a very good reason. Miguel's great grandmother was left by her husband so he could chase his dream of being a musician.

Every single little thing in Coco is predictable. The biggest lesson in Coco is to remember family members of the past. Coco revolves all around the Day of the Dead. All of these dead characters appear in Coco. This movie also shows the afterlife beliefs of this culture. Coco is another movie that is telling parents to let their kids do whatever they want, and attacks respecting your elders.

Miguel tries to steal a guitar from a famous musician in Coco. He gets cursed and can only come back if he gets the blessing of his family. Well his family will grant the blessing only if he will never play music. Miguel winds up meeting a dead skeleton man that helps him try and get the blessing from the famous guitar player because Miguel thinks he is his late great grandfather.

Along the way we learn the dead man helping Miguel is actually his great-grandfather and the famous one killed him. The great grandfather was on his way home when the famous one killed him for his songs. Miguel makes it back to the land of the living and saves his great grandfather from being completely forgotten. Plus his family lets him play music. The adults must change for the children, and kids get their way in Coco.
