Eye Lie Popeye #1
SCORE: 70
The Free Comic Book Day version of Eye Lie Popeye #1 caught my
interest and I decided to purchase the series when it came out. Eye Lie
Popeye #1 cost me $4.99. The same content from the Free Comic Book Day
version is also included in Eye Lie Popeye #1. I honestly hate when that
happens. It is total rehash. Plus I already read it. There are
thirty-eight pages of comic book content within Eye Lie Popeye #1.
Twenty-four of those pages are rehash.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Eye Lie Popeye #1 comic book.
The back of the front cover for Eye Lie Popeye #1 contains the cover
gallery. The first page in Eye Lie Popeye #1 is the credits page. The
art is fantastic in Eye Lie Popeye #1. I love how good characters look
in this comic book. There is some magic, lack of attire, enticement to
lust, and magic in Eye Lie Popeye #1.
Jeep is very helpful in Eye Lie Popeye #1. The bad characters use one of
Popeye's weaknesses against him. Popeye will not hit a female in Eye Lie
Popeye #1. The villain that attacks looks male at first but right before
Popeye launches his attack, a magic veil is lifted and we see that it is
a female. This causes Popeye to miss with his attack. Popeye then gets
beat up pretty bad.
This is when Jeep shows up and gives Popeye some more spinach. Jeep also
provides Popeye targets to hit. That way Popeye destroys this magic
necklace that defeats the bad lady in Eye Lie Popeye #1. There is also
damage done to the water around her. I am not really clear on why that
caused her pain and damage. I know others that physically attacked this
bad character could do no damage.
We learn in Eye Lie Popeye #1 that there is some main villain behind the
scenes directing traffic. This villain is not shown in Eye Lie Popeye
#1. There are other villains ready to attack Popeye in the future. Eye
Lie Popeye #1 ends with the to be continued. There is no page in Eye Lie
Popeye #1 devoted to the next issue. So I have no idea when this next
issue will be released. Maybe it is based on sales of this one.
