Garfield #12

Garfield #12 is another Kaboom Kids comic book from 2013. Garfield #12 cost $3.99 back in the day so it was a bit on the pricey side compared to comics being released over a decade later. There are only twenty-two pages of comic book content within Garfield #12. There are two stories in Garfield #12. The two stories are The Cat Bird Seat, and Return of the Lasagna Monster. The first is twelve pages and the second one is ten pages.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Garfield #12 comic book. The first story has a witch user her magic to turn Garfield into a bird. That way Garfield can see what it is like to be a bird. Garfield chased a bird and this witch decided he need to learn a lesson. Of course cats chase Garfield in Garfield #12. The force someone into the shoes of another lessons is well used in entertainment.

The second story within Garfield #12 is about how the Lasagna Monster got away and captured by some mad scientist. The mad scientist cloned the Lasagna and made it much larger. Three of them that happened to be different flavors go after Garfield. How exactly did cloning produce different flavors? That would add a layer of complexity that makes little to no sense to me. Garfield gets into trouble after the Lasagna Monsters blow up thanks to the vacuum cleaner.

At the end of Garfield #12 is a four page preview of Ice Age The Hidden Treasure. We also get a few additional advertisements after that preview. The credits in Garfield #12 can be found on the back of the front cover. The second story references it was from issue #10 of this comic book. Unfortunately we did not buy that issue over a decade ago so I missed it. Which is honestly no big deal to me.

The artwork in the second story is not as good as the artwork in the first story in Garfield #12. In fact the artwork in the second story looks like something from a really old Garfield comic strip. Meaning Garfield looks vastly different in that second story. I am not a fan of that old art style personally. It still astound me to this day how much food Garfield can consume in these comic books.
