Garfield #19

Garfield #19 is one of those comic books that I believe came from Noah when he cleaned his room. He thought it would be great if I could read and review this comic book from his childhood. The cost of Garfield #19 was $3.99 back in 2013. In my opinion that is really pricey for the content contained within this comic book. There are two stories within Garfield #19. There will be spoilers in my review of this comic book.

The first story in Garfield #19 is Beautiful Balloons. Jon is so excited to see the Thanksgiving Day parade. He takes his girlfriend, Garfield, and Odie on this trip. Jon fondly remembers being a kid and seeing a balloon of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, a clown, and more. When they get there they find only balloons of products that can be purchased at local businesses. This story is twelve pages long.

I find it funny that a comic book that sells for money is complaining about capitalism and commercialism. You are selling this comic book for profit. You are not giving it away to everyone. Why complain about something that you yourself are doing? The double standard is pretty thick. Of course Hollywood does the same thing to viewers so this is nothing new from the radicals on the far left preaching their beliefs.

The second story in Garfield #19 is Revenge of the Zombie Meatballs. This story relates to another zombie food story from a previous issue of this comic book series. The art work in this second story really drops down pretty bad. By the way if the credits in Garfield #19 are on the back of the front cover. The evil zombie food is taken care of in Garfield #19. So hopefully that ends that. This story is ten pages long.

After the two stories we get a page with some Garfield Sunday comics. We also get a few pages related to Thanksgiving. Then two more pages devote to other Garfield related content. Finally there are a couple of advertisements in Garfield #19. I am confused why we get one story with decent art, and one with horrible art. There are a few humorous moments within Garfield #19.
