Garfield #22
SCORE: 80
Noah is absolutely loving how many of his Garfield comic books I am
reading and reviewing. At some point in the near future I will be
completely and totally caught up on them. Back in the day Garfield #22
cost us $3.99. The credits can be found on the back of the front cover
in Garfield #22. There is plenty of Garfield humor within this comic
book. The structure of Garfield #22 remains the same.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Garfield #22 comic book. The
first story in Garfield #22 is twelve pages long. That first story is
The Finest Print. What happens is the news warns Jon and Garfield of
people going around the neighborhood and trying to con them out of
money. The duo is on guard against this dastardly deed. Can you guess
what happens next in Garfield #22?
A salesman comes to the door claiming he is not trying to swindle them.
He is there to offer them the lasagna of the month club membership. Jon
is like no thank you in Garfield #22. Garfield begs Jon again and again
to join this club. Jon finally agrees and gets to sign this massively
long contract that he does not bother to read. In fact some of the print
is so small it can only be read through a telescope.
The man keeps delivering lasagna of the month over and over again.
Eventually Garfield gets full. The only way to get out of the contract
is to sign another contract signing over his house. Jon agrees but
Garfield has a plan. Garfield has the mouse write on the contract some
words. The salesman signs it and gets hauled off to jail because of the
confession the mouse wrote on the contract. Always read the small print.
Great lesson there.
The second story in Garfield #22 is Normal Nermal (ten pages). Garfield
mails Nermal away again to where there are all these cute cats. Nermal
gets into a competition for the cutest cat and winds up getting sent
home again. At the same time Nermal starts a new trend of everyone being
all muddy. After the two stories we get some Sunday shorts, valentines
images, and some more Sunday shorts. There are also some advertisements.
