Gargoyles Quest #1

If you read my last Gargoyles review you know one of the things I was concerned about. The local owner of the comic book store in our area told me all these people want a number one issue. So the companies will do all these things to get them the number one issues. Gargoyles Quest #1 continues the storyline from the twelve Gargoyles issues. There is no reason for this to be a separate title.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Gargoyles Quest #1 comic book. Gargoyles Quest #1 cost me $4.99. There are twenty-four pages of comic book content, a page devoted to the next issues, advertisements and then the cover gallery. Most comic books that cost $4.99 contain thirty pages of comic book content. Gargoyles Quest #1 is a bit of a let down there for me honestly.

Gargoyles Quest #1 starts us out with two Gargoyles speaking Maya and on some quest. For some reason they do not turn to stone during the day. I am not sure why that is. Demona steals from artifact from a lady and is working on her plans for the future. We find out about Goliath doing a signing. Think of a book signing without the books there. There is someone that attacks Goliath.

Gargoyles Quest #1 contains a bit of violence, theft, lack of attire, enticement to lust and more. There are constant comments in New York about wanting a hug. It gets kind of creepy after awhile. Demona knows how to play the long game in Gargoyles Quest #1. At least that is what she tells another character.

The Gargoyles living so long presents an interesting facet to storytelling. A character can wait eons to get what they want. It sounds like Gargoyles are more patient than humans in Gargoyles Quest #1. The art is decent in Gargoyles Quest #1. It is more crisp and clear than when the original series started. I did some research and this series will be five issues. I wonder what comes after it.
