Hercules #5

There are some comic book series, and some stories that need to keep going. Darkwing Duck, and the Gargoyles are great examples of this. Then there are other comic book series that I am getting tired of. That is where Hercules sits with me. I feel like this whole storyline has been so predictable that I am ready for it to be done, and put to bed. There is some progress in Hercules #5 at least.

Hercules #5 cost me $4.99 brand new. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Hercules #5. After that is a page devoted to the next issue, ads, and finally the cover gallery. There will be spoilers in my review of the Hercules #5 comic book. The name of the story in Hercules #5 is Sun on the Run. Can you guess what happens in Hercules #5? The sun is running wild without someone to guide the horses.

Hercules #5 leans into Greek Mythology religious beliefs quite a bit. The issues families can have with Hercules #5 are lack of attire, enticement to lust, false gods, and more. There is a question asked over and over again in Hercules #5. Why do they need these false gods? Hercules answers this questions by showing the disasters. In essence they are need to keep the sun in the sky. Obviously they did not have much in terms of science.

The team goes to Mount Olympus to find that the place has been trashed. An attack happened and there is no one there. Hercules still suspects that Hades did this. The interesting thing about this comic book is the main bad character is shown in Hercules #5. It was not who we were expecting. This Sphynx like character has somehow captured all these characters and imprisoned them. I suspect Hades was also captured.

My hope is this series will end in an issue or two. It looks like Hercules and his crew will be going down into the underworld soon. At least that is where I expect them to go. Unless Atlas will be kidnapped next. Then who will hold up the sky for us? Yes my question is dripping with sarcasm. It would be great if Hercules ends in the next issue. It might drag on a bit longer.
