Hero #3

Noah, Peter, Princess and myself took a trip to Nashville in the summer of 2023 to go to the McKAY store. Hero #3 is one of the comic books that I found there. I am very happy that I am finally able to work it into my comic book reading pile. I vaguely remember this six part limited adventure series back in the day. Hero #3 was released in July of 1990. Man that was a good year.

There will be spoilers in this review. The issues families can have with Hero #3 is magic, violence, false gods, and more. There is some humor within Hero #3. There are twenty-four pages of comic book content within Hero #3. Advertisements can be found all throughout the Hero #3 comic book. I love seeing advertisements for some older video games in this comic book personally.

Hero #3 does not provide a recap or a credits page either. I am brought up to speed a little bit thanks to some of the dialogue. This man on Earth dies and winds up in some fantasy realm. He just wants to get back to New Jersey. He has some weapon called the Devilthorn in Hero #3. He is supposed to kill the Slivigoth. They promise to send him home instead. So he goes with them.

The Slivigoth make one mistake in Hero #3. They send the hero outside and have scorpions attack him. The hero winds up coming back into the structure in Hero #3 and decides to finish them off. Attacking them directly in their lair does absolutely nothing to them. The hero notices this orb above them and attacks that instead. That was the key to killing these creatures in Hero #3.

The hero winds up dying at the end of Hero #3. One of the guardians of the Slivigoth stabs the hero in the back. We then see the spirits of the Slivigoth being eaten by some other evil character. I am not sure where this series goes after Hero #3. I hope to be able to find the first two issues at some future date. Thankfully I do have the rest of this six part limited series.
