Hero #5
SCORE: 66
I am very thankful for the time to dip into my comic book reading
pile again. Hero #5 is getting me closer to the end of the storyline.
Cody is starting to become more of a hero in this particular comic book.
Hero #5 cost me fifty cents at McKays when we took that trip to it in
the summer of 2023. This particular comic book was in pretty rough
shape. It took some liquid damage at some point in its lifetime since
1990.
There will be some spoilers in this review of the Hero #5 comic book.
There are twenty-three pages of comic book content within Hero #5.
Advertisements can be found all throughout the Hero #5 comic book. I
loved seeing some of the video game advertisements within Hero #5. For
me it is a trip down history lane. The Bonk two page advertisement in
Hero #5 is super special to me. I really enjoyed that franchise.
There is some violence, blood, false gods, multiverse religious belief
and more in Hero #5. The team gets free of this robot thanks to the
little dinosaurs that help out the large character in Hero #5. Cody has
a problem with computers in Hero #5. I did enjoy some of the humor
within Hero #5. Cody did not realize the computer was voice activated in
Hero #5. The answer from the computer about why it did not reveal that
tidbit was great in Hero #5.
The Bullpen Bulletins in Hero #5 is exceptionally interesting
historically to me. The art style is definitely older in Hero #5. The
same goes for how panels were setup in Hero #5. The dialogue is
interesting as Cody still does not want to actually be a hero. We lose
another major character in Hero #5. It almost felt like it was tacked on
to me. The guy who could send out his eyes decided to stop doing that
since he already lost one eye.
In the end Cody goes through the portal after saving the humans of this
world that were enslaved to robots. The rest of the team does not jump
on it and wind up getting left behind. Cody will now have to fight off
the end boss by himself in the next issue. The characters that sent the
heroes on this quest claim they cannot open the portal to get them
there. I am curious to see how this series will end in the next issue.
