Invincible #1
SCORE: 65
From time to time comic book companies will reprint a certain comic
book. This is done for a variety of different reasons. Maybe the
original is rare and really expensive. People want to check it out, but
are not going to pay those prices. The franchise may get a television
show and there is an opportunity to make some additional money due to
the renewed interest. Comic book companies also notice that people ask
for a reprint.
Invincible #1 is under the Image Firsts label. It claimed that
Invincible #1 was only one dollar but I did not pay attention to my
receipt to see if that is how it actually rang up. There will be
spoilers in my review of the Invincible #1 comic book. Thankfully this
comic book is not as bloody as the television show was. The art in
Invincible #1 is not very good. There is plenty in Invincible #1 from
the first season of the television show.
Mark gets his powers and starts to learn to be a super hero. Mark stops
some crime in Invincible #1. There is violence, blood, bad language,
lack of attire and more. There are some insinuations about things in
Invincible #1. For example Mark is on the toilet reading a comic book
and his mom wants him to hurry up and get out. His mom says something
about how he will give himself a heart attack. Implying that Mark is
doing something else in the bathroom.
There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Invincible #1.
There is also a page about other Invincible that can be purchased by
readers. There are also some ads found in Invincible #1. The ads did not
reach me personally. In fact none of those franchises caught my eye.
Invincible #1 does have some humor within it. Sadly most of it falls
pretty flat. A lot of space is covered in Invincible #1.
Mark stands up to a bully and is punished for it by the principal in
Invincible #1. The bully is almost excused for his behavior in
Invincible #1. I know we had a similar problem with Peter in the public
school system. The principal and vice principal did not come back to
that school after that year. You know what they say about messing with
the bull. I am smiling from ear to ear right now remembering that.
