Justice Ducks #1

I was extremely bummed to hear the Darkwing Duck comic book series was wrapping up. I got excited when I heard the Justice Ducks was getting a comic book series. Why is that? Darkwing Duck is in Justice Ducks #1. I will expound upon that in just a little bit within this very review. This comic book cost me $3.99 to purchase. There will be spoilers in this review of the Justice Ducks #1 comic book.

Justice Ducks #1 is placed in St. Canard. I did a bit of research to see this saint is unique to this franchise. I do not recall much about the history of this saint either. I am impressed that Disney still allows a reference to a saint after their extreme left turn in recent years. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Justice Ducks #1. Then we get a page devoted to the next issue, some advertisements and finally the cover gallery.

There is a bit of mild cartoon violence in Justice Ducks #1. Some giant alien appears in Justice Ducks #1 demanding IXEKREME. The Justice Ducks are able to get the giant alien off its feet and to tie it up. Then more aliens appear requesting the same thing. The Justice Ducks realize they are asking for ice cream. Once the ice cream is provided in Justice Ducks #1 then the giant aliens settle down.

Gizmo Duck is able to translate the aliens language and find out their sad story. So they give the giant aliens a recipe for ice cream and they wind up leaving. Justice Ducks #1 is an one shot in terms of the storyline. There is some humor within Justice Ducks #1. Neptunia is extremely annoying and bossy within Justice Ducks #1. I have no strong feelings one way or the other on the other Justice Ducks.

Darkwing Duck provides the team with a way to communicate with one another. Darkwing Duck talks about how he is a loner in Justice Ducks #1. It almost sounds like Darkwing Duck will not be a part of the Justice Ducks in the future. That really bums me out personally. I hope this series does not entirely drop the DW character because without him it get dull really fast. There is only so much of Neptunia I can handle.
