Kung Fu Panda 4

I am very thankful that Family Friendly Gaming was given the retail version of Kung Fu Panda 4 on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code. It takes one hour and thirty-three minutes to watch this animated film. There are also some interesting bonus features included on the disc of Kung Fu Panda 4. The Dueling Dumplings short is fun to watch after seeing the entire movie. How to cook dumplings is another great one. There will be spoilers in my review of Kung Fu Panda 4.

It becomes very apparent early on that Po is expected to pass along the title of Dragon Warrior to a successor. Po is expected to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. Po goes on one last mission with Zhen (a city thief fox) to stop the chameleon. This sorceress chameleon is able to make herself look like anyone. Which means you might want to be careful how you talk about her behind her back. She might just be present.

The issues families can have with Kung Fu Panda 4 are violence, magic, bringing the dead back to Earth, stealing powers, references to demi-gods, and two dads. The two dads thing is one is the biological father, and the other one is the goose who raised him. Since Hollyhate has a long history of supporting rebellion against God it can be something deemed as controversial and highly divisive.

It becomes pretty clear early on that Po will decide Zhen is his successor. Even when Zhen betrays him at one point in the movie. There are obviously better choices for his successor. But according to Kung Fu Panda 4 "the universe" decided for him. There is plenty of humor within Kung Fu Panda 4. There are little bits like the bulls in the china shop, or the fight between Po and Zhen. The pole vaulting Po has to be my personal favorite.

There are aspects of Kung Fu Panda 4 that could be considered woke. Kung Fu Panda 4 skirts those and does not openly embrace them like say Disney has. So it could be one way or the other. This franchise should be effectively dead now unless it morphs into Kung Fu Fox. The biggest lesson in Kung Fu Panda 4 is that every single pit can become a great tree. A pit is carried around and given as a symbol of that lesson in Kung Fu Panda 4.

There are plenty of laughs within Kung Fu Panda 4. The song in the end credits is pretty funny as well. I just wish the music video had been included on this disc. The magical wand in Kung Fu Panda 4 must be given freely for the power to pass along. Po is deceived quite well in that regard. Po is also referenced in Kung Fu Panda 4 as an easy mark. Po sees the good in others in Kung Fu Panda 4. Is that a bad thing? I feel like the torch was passed along too soon. There are plenty more cool adventures Po could have gone on.
