Looney Tunes #279

There is one thing I really appreciate about the Looney Tunes comic books. That thing is the price. Looney Tunes #279 cost me $2.99 which means it is one of the lower priced comic books that are still releasing brand new issues. There are two stories in Looney Tunes #279. Each of these stories are eight pages long. There is also a seven page preview of Barkham Asylum in Looney Tunes #279.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Looney Tunes #279 comic book. There is a bit of cartoon violence in Looney Tunes #279 just like the television show. The first story in Looney Tunes #279 is Off Track. This is all about different Looney Tunes characters competing in Olympic like events. This is a very fitting story in Looney Tunes #279 because the Olympics are going on as I write this review.

Daffy Duck is so abused in Off Track in Looney Tunes #279. It looks like he will have multiple easy wins, but Looney Tunes logic messes him over again and again. That is a real shame because I wanted to see Daffy Duck get a win. Near the end of Looney Tunes #279 Daffy Duck tries to steal some trophies that are participation awards. Those getting those awards take them so Daffy gets nothing.

Ads can be found all throughout the Looney Tunes #279 comic book. The second story in Looney Tunes #279 is called Soccer Blocker. These evil characters like a vampire, witch, and hair monster want some humans to eat. So they put out an ad about a soccer tournament at their castle. Only one character bothers to show up for this soccer tournament. Can you guess who shows up?

Bugs Bunny is the one character that shows up for the soccer tournament in Looney Tunes #279. The villains are going to eat him, but Bugs Bunny threatens to call his lawyer so they give him a soccer game. Bugs is up against three characters. So Bugs decides to dress up and trick the bad guys. While they are trying to figure something out, Bugs scores a goal. This happens again and again.
