Mario vs Donkey Kong
SCORE: 73
I hope you were able to enjoy the live streams I performed of Mario
vs Donkey Kong. I was able to play this game from start to finish in
four hours and forty minutes. I did not get every single present in
every single level. I did perfect multiple worlds while playing Mario vs
Donkey Kong. There are eight worlds in Mario vs Donkey Kong. Each world
has six levels, then a toy box level, and finally a boss battle with
Donkey Kong. After the boss of the eighth world there is another boss
fight.
Two family members can play this Nintendo Switch video game that is a
remastered version of the Gameboy Advance version. Mario vs Donkey Kong
looks nice and it sounds pretty good. In fact some of the music that
plays sounds like it was ripped right out of some popular rap song from
the past. If you played through the GBA version of Mario vs Donkey Kong
then you may not be interested in dropping fifty dollars for the same
game on the Nintendo Switch. Once the game is beaten you can replay it
on even harder modes. That option did not really interest me personally.
There is one enemy in Mario vs Donkey Kong that annoyed me to no end. It
is this pile of bricks that drops three bricks on the player. Sometimes
I could jump and knock the bricks away. Other times I would take a hit
and go back to the last flag continuation point I had tripped. Unless of
course it was my last little bubble and then I died and had to
completely replay the entire screen again. The only problem I had with
this game are levels with those pile of bricks. Everything else I was
able to figure out pretty quickly.
We collect presents in the levels within Mario vs Donkey Kong. We also
find a key and bring it back to the door. Most of the levels within
Mario vs Donkey Kong make perfect sense. I could see in my mind what
needed to be done. There were a few levels that were annoying. After the
first level of a world is played then players can play any of the other
five in whatever order they choose. All six must be beaten to unlock the
toy box level. The toy box level must be beaten to unlock the boss
battle. Then the next world is unlocked.
In the toy box levels we get the six toys we saved and they must get the
letters: T, O, and Y, for the player. Then get to the toy box. The more
characters we save in the toy box level the more hits we can take in the
boss battle. Getting all the presents, saving all the toys, and taking
no hits in the boss levels equal a perfect score in Mario vs Donkey
Kong.
