Mega Man #1

My excitement hit the roof when I realized one of the comic books Noah gave me to read and review was Mega Man #1. I just finished reading this comic book and it is a great start to the Mega Man comic book series. Archie Comics did a really good job with the comic books they were given licenses for. There will be spoilers in this review of the Mega Man #1 comic book. You were warned.

There is a bit of mild violence within Mega Man #1. The main concept within Mega Man #1 is how Dr. Light and Dr. Wily are working together on these robot masters to help all of humankind and robot kind. Dr. Wily wants to go out there and be a part of the master reveal. Due to his bad image Dr. Light feels now is not the time.

The reveal is performed in Mega Man #1. Then when Dr. Light goes to bed Dr. Wily decides to swap out some chips for the robots and to send them on a rampage. Dr. Light is not very happy. Thankfully Rock steps up and decides he wants to stop them. So Dr. Light gives Rock some upgrades and the ability to copy the abilities of other robots within Mega Man #1. At that point Rock becomes Mega Man.

If you are familiar with the Mega Man lore then you will completely understand the storyline within Mega Man #1. This comic book does flesh things out a bit more than the video games did. Mega Man #1 is a nice exploration of these characters. I am not sure why Dr. Wily did it though. Maybe that is explained in a later comic book. I am not sure how many more of these I have from Noah.

Mega Man #1 contains twenty-two pages of comic book content. There is also a Mega Mail page within Mega Man #1. This comic book also contains a page devoted to the next issue. I enjoyed reading Mega Man #1. If I ever get the time and money I will need to check out Mega Man comic books I am missing. Until then I will keep working in comic books like Mega Man #1 to explore this lore and history.
