Monster High 2
SCORE: 68
After watching the live action Monster High The Movie last year I
suspected there would be a sequel. Can you guess what this review is
about? If you guessed the sequel then you are completely right. Monster
High 2 is ninety-three minutes long. We are introduced to a new
character in Monster High 2. This new character is Toralei Stripe. She
is a Were-Cat that was studying abroad the last year.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Monster High 2 movie. The
friendship of Clawdeen, Draculaura, and Frankie is still a major part of
Monster High 2. The school picks two students to compete to be the
leader of the student body. Clawdeen is one candidate and Toralei is the
other one. Toralei wants to keep monsters safe and keep out witchcraft.
Witches invade the school at one point and it looks bad for those that
support witchcraft.
The issues families can have with Monster High 2 are magic, lack of
attire, occult, witchcraft and more. Monster High 2 also encourages the
radical and extremist use of pronouns promoting that mental illness
instead of seeking actual, true, and healthy treatment. There are
musical dance numbers in Monster High 2. None of the songs really
reached me personally.
Monster High 2 has a theme that older people need to sit down, shut up,
and let the younger people do whatever they want. This has been a trend
in entertainment for a little bit now. Sort of like how the war on men
was. Now it is a war on the wise. How dare we share wisdom from our
decades of experience. Those with less experiences know better than the
wise. I honestly find that concept completely backwards. Plus it is
complete and total rebellion against God.
There is a bit of deceit in Monster High 2 as witches convince
Draculaura to come and help them achieve peace. What Draculaura does not
know is the witches plan on using her to cast a mortality spell on
vampires that will make them all die. There will be complete and total
peace once one side is completely destroyed. Clawdeen comes close to
dying in Monster High 2. She even sees the reaper. Who shows up at the
end of the movie not wanting to be denied again.
There are numerous bonus features in Monster High 2. A couple of behind
the scenes, and two sing along music videos. Since Monster High 2 is the
sophomore year I suppose that means there can be two more movies. One
for the junior year, and one for the senior year. That statue from the
last movie is shown in Monster High 2 as well. Monster High 2 encourages
viewers to practice witchcraft and whatever they feel they should do.
