Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140

In October of 2022 Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 was printed. The numbering I am using is the legacy numbering. Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 also has #2 on it. I did not get the first issue in this reboot. I did get the second and third from a drop bag at one of our comic book stores. I thought about trying to find the first issue of this series but honestly the movie was not that great and I did not expect much from this comic book.

Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 sat at the bottom of my pile for a long while. Maybe even two years. Now I am getting down to the bottom of the pile and reading comic books like Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140. There will be spoilers in my review of the Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 comic book. The first page in Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 is an intro and credits page.

There are twenty pages of comic book content within Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140. Advertisements can be found all throughout this comic book. There is a page devote to the next issue near the end of Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140. The issues families can have with Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 are violence, blood, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more.

The story telling in Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 is extremely predictable. The main guy puts his ten rings behind some major security. A woman from his past asks for help saving a fellow agent. So Shang-Chi helps her only to notice some oddities in the entire setup. While he is busy saving someone there - who is actually never in danger. The spy organization is breaking through his security to steal the rings.

The woman betrays him - which is to be expected. The hostage was actually in control of the situation thanks to a mind control device. The "hero" in Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #140 figures things out too late. The "hero" will now need to go and get his rings back from his old friends that stole it. This has been used so many times by Marvel that honestly it is not totally boring.
