Silver Surfer #1
SCORE: 63
I prefer to list the legacy number of a comic book whenever I can.
Unfortunately it was not included on the front cover of Silver Surfer
#1. I know there have been other Silver Surfer #1 comic books in the
past. This is the one from in the year of our Lord 2024. Silver Surfer
#1 cost me $6.99. I feel like the cost is a bit high for the amount of
comic book content included with Silver Surfer #1.
The main story in Silver Surfer #1 is twenty pages. Then we get a
twenty-two page story that is a reprinting of Silver Surfer #80. Why was
that needed? I can tell the art style is from the past. The same with
how the panels are done and all of that. Advertisements can be found all
throughout the Silver Surfer #1 comic book. At the end of Silver Surfer
#1 it lets us know about a giant sized Thor comic book.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Silver Surfer #1 comic book.
Silver Surfer #1 is mainly about Terrax. He is now the herald of
Galactus. Silver Surfer #1 references another comic book where the
Silver Surfer is doing some other job for Galactus now. Terrax is all
about using his power in Silver Surfer #1. Silver Surfer uses tricks
like illusion to battle. Terrax trapped some aliens and threatens to
kill them.
Silver Surfer already saved all of these aliens thanks to an illusion.
Terrax plans to take the cosmic power from Silver Surfer and then kill
him. Terrax is tired of being second fiddle to Silver Surfer. Terrax
loses and Silver Surfer throws away the collar after using it on Terrax.
Terrax can go and hunt down his powers again in the near future. Then
the Silver Surfer and his lady friend leave.
The second story is about some assassin like lady wanting to get the axe
of Terrax after Silver Surfer finds it. Terrax and another alien were
fighting until other aliens show up and took them out. Silver Surfer
does not plan on giving the axe over to this lady assassin. So it looks
like they will fight in Silver Surfer #81. Maybe some day I will look
for that comic book. Silver Surfer #1 did not impress me much.
Especially considering the price.
