Smurfs Kart
SCORE: 70
When I was live streaming Smurfs Kart I was trying to remember the
other racing franchise Eden Games and Microids teamed up to do. It was
the Gear.Club Unlimited video games. Smurfs Kart is a bit on the small
side. There are twelve tracks and twelve Smurfs to race with in Smurfs
Kart. There is also mirror mode which reverses tracks in Smurfs Kart.
There is not a lot of content in Smurfs Kart to warrant the price.
One of the biggest problems I had while playing is Smurfs Kart is being
forced onto a different path. In certain spots the path will split to
multiple paths. I would line up to go a certain way and the game would
just move me to a different path. This irritated me really badly in
Smurfs Kart. A few times I got stuck on walls because I was trying to
take a different path.
I purchased the Turbo Edition of Smurfs Kart on the Nintendo Switch.
This included a patch and some stickers. We also earn stickers inside
the game for doing certain things like collecting so many berries,
beating a cup, and more. There are two speed difficulty settings in
Smurfs Kart. I was able to lose on the easiest setting thanks to the
other Smurfs tagging me with different attacks.
There are berries to collect, and gifts to collect. The gifts can grant
the player different power ups or attacks. Drifting can give a short
boost. I learned to avoid drifting around certain corners because the
slide is so pronounced in Smurfs Kart. I went off the edge multiple
times before I learned that lesson.
Smurfs Kart looks okay. There are some interesting aspects like going
through a bubble blower and flying to the next section of the race
track. Up to two power ups can be held at the same time. We can only
collect ten berries at a time per race track. Getting hit and spun out
will also make you lose some berries. I wanted to have fun with Smurfs
Kart so badly. Alas it did not happen.
