Sonic The Hedgehog #68

I really enjoyed reading the Sonic The Hedgehog #68 comic book. This stand alone story that could connect to others was a breath of fresh air. Plus Sonic The Hedgehog #68 feels like a real and genuine Sonic The Hedgehog comic book. There will be spoilers in this review of Sonic The Hedgehog #68. This comic book cost me $3.99 to purchase. I wound up getting cover B of this comic book.

The content within Sonic The Hedgehog #68 starts with a page devoted to the Story So Far, then a characters page, twenty pages of comic book content, a page for next month, the Sonic Letter Squad pages, alternate covers, then the IDW Back Page, and finally a few advertisements. I read the IDW Back Page in another IDW Publishing comic book. The only difference is some of the comic books shown in Sonic The Hedgehog #68.

Sonic and Tails are the only two characters in Sonic The Hedgehog #68. The two of them are testing out a hoverboard made by Tails and to find a chaos emerald. It turns out to be the yellow chaos emerald. Along the way Sonic falls into a hole, and he and Tails wind up in some mine shafts. The two of them comment about how they wind up falling into holes quite often in Sonic The Hedgehog #68.

The pair winds up finding a really cool cavern with some bioluminescent plants. If you are unfamiliar with that word, let me explain it to you. These plants glow in the dark. Sonic accidently disturbs the environment in Sonic The Hedgehog #68. This giant salamander comes out and attacks Sonic. The salamander must be intelligent because it understands Sonic when he explains they will leave with the emerald. If they leave the emerald others will come looking for it and continue to disturb the environment.

The giant salamander in Sonic The Hedgehog #68 opens a way out. Sonic makes sure to close it up behind them so no one else will disturb that area. Tails objects at first until Sonic explains that the giant salamander wants to be left alone, and they are honoring its wishes. Plus they are protecting the environment and that giant salamander did help them out. It is actually a nice moment in Sonic The Hedgehog #68.
