Speed Racer #1

I am not completely clear where Speed Racer #1 came from. It was in my comic book pile. It is actually in pretty good shape. That makes me think Speed Racer #1 did not come from the rooms of one of our boys when they were cleaning things out. There is also no sticker telling me it came from McKays. So what does that leave? It most likely was purchased at one of our local comic book stores in their used bins.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Speed Racer #1 comic book. Speed Racer #1 cost $2.50 back in October of 1999 when it was first released. I feel like that price is probably a bit high for the twenty-two pages of comic book content. There are advertisements throughout the Speed Racer #1 comic book. Speed Racer #1 contains two pages of content from the people behind this comic book and others from this company.

The issues families can have with Speed Racer #1 are lack of attire, enticement to lust violence, false gods and more. What is it that any comic book needs to do? In my opinion that is make you want to keep reading it. After reading Speed Racer #1 I am very interested in finding out what happens next in this story. Please note that I do not have the next issue in my pile so that will not occur anytime soon.

There is a race in Speed Racer #1 where a father in a pit is going to talk to his son. The two of them had a bit of a tiff before Speed Racer #1. The younger son is excited to see his brother Rex Racer out there racing. There are plenty of exciting car scenes in Speed Racer #1. Rex Racer refused to pit in Speed Racer #1. Sort of like Lightning McQueen in Cars. Speed Racer #1 predates Cars so we know who could have copied whom.

The art in Speed Racer #1 reminds me of old anime. Speed Racer #1 feels similar to Robotech. Interesting how the same company made the comic books for both of Robotech and Speed Racer. There is a distinctive style to the art. The same goes for current franchises like Dragon Quest, and Fairy Tail. A certain person with a certain style is behind it. Speed Racer #1 has plenty of interesting and exciting moments.
