Star Trek Defiant #17

Recently I decided to give the Star Trek Defiant comic book series another shot. I saw that Star Trek Defiant #17 is the first part of The Stars of Home storyline. So I thought Star Trek Defiant #17 would be a great place to start. Star Trek Defiant #17 cost me $4.99. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Star Trek Defiant #17. Then we get a page devoted to the next issue, two pages of Ships Log, IDW View from the Back Page, and finally the covers checklist.

The credits and recap in Star Trek Defiant #17 is found on the backside of the front cover. The issues families can have with Star Trek Defiant #17 are violence, blood, bad language, and more. There are also two pages related to the storyline in Star Trek Defiant #17. One is a Priority one page, and another one looks like political propaganda from people not in power.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Star Trek Defiant #17 comic book. There are quite a few different threads going on in Star Trek Defiant #17. Spock is a prisoner and being tortured in Star Trek Defiant #17. Sela is helping another Romulan get into power. There is a group that kidnapped some Romulan officials. The person that hired them in Star Trek Defiant #17 also threw them under the bus while he assumed power.

The Chief O'Brien portion in Star Trek Defiant #17 was very interesting. He was accused of being a war criminal by one of his cadet students for creating the self replicating mines. Those mines were used in the Dominion War. Since then others have used the same technology and a lot of people died from it. O'Brien loses his cool and calls Cardassians Cardies. O'Brien must then apologize for his language to a superior.

Star Trek Defiant #17 preaches the far left wing radical propaganda about not offending certain people and certain groups. Although when the same writers put profanity in their comic books and offend some people there never is an apology for that. When these same writers offend Christians or conservatives there is never an apology either. Their lack of consistency is darkening.
