Sunsoft Collection 1

I continue with my quest of getting caught up on the Evercade cartridges. Thankfully I had the money to purchase a copy of the Sunsoft Collection 1. The PR and Marketing representatives failed our close to ten million readers. Do not fret because we got you in spite of them. The six games on the Sunsoft Collection 1 cartridge are Mr. Gimmick, Blaster Master, Blaster Master Boy, Aero the Acro-Bat, Journey to Silius, and Arabian.

I got so excited when I heard about Sunsoft Collection 1. I expected those older Batman video games. Sadly they are not included, and a second collection for Sunsoft has been announced and they are still not included. Pretty lame if you ask me. Mr. Gimmick was never released outside of Japan. So that game is interesting to see and play. After playing Mr. Gimmick I can see why it was not released outside of Japan. Some of the controls are annoying.

We get two Blaster Master video games on the Sunsoft Collection 1 cartridge. We shoot all kinds of things in those games. All of the games (with the exception of Arabian) have some sort of violence within them. Speaking of Arabian this is one of those one screen kind of video games where we collect certain items and then get another one screen. The random nature of the computer controlled characters can be very annoying. I found myself trapped in Arabian a lot with nowhere to go.

Aero the Acrobat would be the biggest name in Sunsoft Collection 1. I vaguely remembered this game from the 16-bit era. I got to spend more time with Sunsoft Collection 1 thanks to live streaming this collection on Rumble. Aero the Acrobat confused me as to what to do (at first). There is also confusion on what objects you can interact with and what are just background graphics.

There are only six games on the Sunsoft Collection 1 cartridge which makes it pretty light compared to others. We blow away quite a few things. I did find the Blaster Master Boy game interesting.
