Super Bomberman R 2
SCORE: 72
One of the cool things about live streaming a video game from start
to finish is Family Friendly Gaming Universe gets to see the good, the
bad, and the ugly in a video game. I had to be extremely stubborn to
play Super Bomberman R 2 from the start to the finish. The one glaring
problem in Super Bomberman R 2 came up again and again. I can see why so
many of the my fellow streamers avoid this video game. There will be
spoilers in this review.
There are three things we do in the Story mode of Super Bomberman R 2.
We explore areas and rescue Ellons. We also collect items that help
level up our character. As we progress in an area we can level all the
way up to fifteen. As we level up we can use more bombs and the blast
length is longer. The second thing we do in Super Bomberman R 2 is
defend a base against enemies that attack and try to steal all five of
our chests. We can lay out traps in Super Bomberman R 2 to keep them
away. As well as put down bombs. These come up as we explore the three
worlds.
The final thing we do in Super Bomberman R 2 is attack the castles of
the enemies. This is where Super Bomberman R 2 gets really messed up.
The entire Bomberman family goes up against the enemies here. The goal
is to get a key and to take it to the treasure chest. There are all
kinds of traps, and enemies in our way. If anyone in our family scores,
we lose. Let that sink in. If a teammate scores in this castle attack we
lose the battle. The player must get the key and score. That is the only
path to victory.
There are some violence, blood, and language issues within Super
Bomberman R 2. Up to three family members can play Super Bomberman R 2
in local co-op mode. Up to sixty-four players can blow one another up in
the online battle mode. The game play length in Super Bomberman R 2 is
stretched out thanks to forcing us to defend the base and attack the
castles. Yes the computer controlled teammates are constantly trying to
score and lose the battle for us.
I wanted to like Super Bomberman R 2 like I did the first game.
Ultimately I did not enjoy playing Super Bomberman R 2. The aggravation,
and frustration from Super Bomberman R 2 is really high. The only cool
thing about Super Bomberman R 2 is exploring the areas. The story is
interesting and fascinating. The bad guy does change at the end after we
beat him in an insanely long boss battle in Super Bomberman R 2.
