Superman 2016 #1
SCORE: 69
During our 2013 trip to McKay's I ran across Superman 2016 #1. At the
time I had to do some research to figure out when this issue was
released. Superman 2016 #1 came out in September of 2016. All it
actually says on the front cover is Superman #1. I knew that was not
accurate since I was familiar with the Superman #1 from 1987. I also
know there was another Superman #1 not that long ago as Superman has
received multiple reboots. Superman 2016 #1 is part of the DC Universe
Rebirth.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Superman 2016 #1 comic book.
The first five pages are actually really dark in Superman 2016 #1. I am
talking about the tones. The last two of those pages actually have
Superman showing off his symbol. Superman 2016 #1 originally sold for
$2.99. I was able to purchase Superman 2016 #1 for ninety cents. The
credits are found on part of the sixth and seventh pages in Superman
2016 #1.
Superman 2016 #1 is part one of the Son of Superman. We meet Jonathan
Kent in Superman 2016 #1. He is the son of Clark Kent. This kid has
powers and accidently kills the cat with heat vision when a bird tries
to take away the cat. The issues families can have with Superman 2016 #1
are lack of attire, enticement to lust, violence, lying and more. The
son of Superman has issues with lying to keep their secrets. At the same
time he lies about the cat.
The art continues to not impress me in Superman 2016 #1. I feel bad for
the kid, but he should own up to his mistakes and learn to use his
powers. This blonde little girl is also involved in Superman 2016 #1.
Her name is Kathy Branden. She may know Jonathan's secret about the cat.
A lot of the faces and expressions in Superman 2016 #1 are creepy. In
many ways Superman 2016 #1 feels more like a horror comic than a
Superman one.
Wonder Woman and Batman visit Superman in Superman 2016 #1. Jonathan
listens in to some of the conversation. He gets caught, and then
Superman shows up and tells him they are leaving right then. I do not
think I have next issue so I will not find out what happens without
finding and purchasing it, or researching it online. Superman 2016 #1
did not impress me. Not one bit. I will not miss what happens in this
storyline.
